D2: Evaluate Radio Show Process and Feedback
Codes and Conventions
We have followed the codes and conventions of a radio show in our DonCast Films show. We have used Jingles to seperate each segment (Dome, Savoy, Cast and the competition all have there own jingles). We have also created radio jingles for our DonCast Films radio show to let listeners know what they are listening to and to also create brand identity. This effective; we can market our
Me and Ellie converse about the different things we would like to see at Doncaster Dome, Savoy Cinema and Cast. We add our own opinions while we speak so the listeners can side with either of us. We also talk about the different events/movies being performed/released in November and December. While we talk about these events, we will address the listeners to catch their attention and ensure they hear the important information about these events. We decided to present like this so we are not just stating what arts and culture we can participate in, we are making our radio talk show interesting by including opinions and funny moments.
I believe we have successfully reached our family target audience for our radio show. We talked in a positive tone of voice, we were upbeat and happy. We used simple language that children would also be able to understand. We talked about movies and shows that families can see.
Feedback
I created a Google Forms to gather audience feedback for our DonCast Films radio show. You can see the responses below. I asked a series of questions based on the delivery and editing of our radio show to have feedback on all areas of our radio show.
Evaluate Radio Show Process
I am going to evaluate what did and didn't go well while producing our radio show. This will help me understand what I did well and what I will improve on next time.
Overall, I believe we did an amazing job creating the DonCast Films radio show. The content of our rado show flows effortlessly, the coversations between me and Ellie are interesting and we delivered this to our target audience very well. I loved editing the radio show, this is a strength. We closely followed the conventional structure of a radio show and the jingles sound brilliant. My favourite section is the Savoy advertisement because I could create 360 degree sound for this and it sounds incredible. My feedback was extreamely positive. They loved the editing, the delivery of the radio show, our selection of background music and the jingles we created. They all enjoyed our radio show and they believe we have reached our family target audience.
While recording our radio show, we had to take several recordings since
we would mix up our words or forget what we are going to say. However, when producing a live radio show, we would not be able to re-record our audio because we would be live. Presenting and being able to talk losely from a script while having the confidence to talk for long periods of time is something I think me and Ellie would need to improve on. This is one thing I would like to improve on in the future. This would mean that we wouldn't need to record many takes and ooverall it would speed up the production time.
In the additional comments section, I was given feedback to edit the audio levels of the radio show. I did struggle to do this while editing since my audio levels were louder than Ellie's. I believe I did well to edit the audio levels and make them even however I would love to find a solution to this problem instead of having to change the audio levels of every individual audio clip. Again, this is a technical skill I would love to learn properly if I get the chance.
